...What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

One of the upsides of my post hip replacement recovery period is the amount of time it has allowed me to while away (guilt free) on blog browsing. I came across Julia's blog at the weekend and I so enjoyed taking a virtual peep over other people's shoulders at all their different workdesks that I decided to join in with the fun by offering a glimpse of my own.
The desk is in a comporatively tidy state today, in that there's enough clear space for me to just sit down and pick up where I left off (apart from those pincushion flower heads that I picked this morning and left to dry for seed gathering). I'm having another low energy day so have just been knitting this morning and catching up with a friend from work this afternoon, but you can probably make out the teeny-tiny footballer waiting for his Subbuteo team mates to join him when I'm feeling less fatigued again. There's quite a lot of stuff just out of shot in the photo above, so for full disclosure here's what the end of the desk currently looks like ...
...it might appear very cluttered but there's a place for everything and everything's in its place. I've been listening to First Aid Kit on the CD player this week - highly recommend their gorgeous silver-voiced harmonies for a relaxing musical accompaniment. Tucked underneath is one of the several XXSCat dog beds we have scattered around the house so that our pampered little pooch can always keep us company in comfort. She makes a great foot warmer in colder weather.

  2. Hi there. Welcome to the madcap crowd that are WOYWWers! It's highly addictive - and incredibly good fun - and all thanks to dear Julia and her persistence with it. 10 years old we are . I love the space you have - and oh my! A place for everything and everything in its place! I am mightily impressed. Don't look too hard at my space, will you???
Trust your hip continues to go from strength to strength - my hubby had a hip replacement - plus two knees and a shoulder - and they merrily walked, unaided, up Snowdon!!! All his replacement joints were so very successful it was wonderful - but recovery takes a long time.
Take care of yourself. God bless.

  4. How lovely to see you! We’re all very glad you stumbled across WOYWW. Your desk is covered in light which is marvellous isnt it, and I love that everything has a place. I dont think it does look cluttered - particularly as I glance up and can see my desk this morning...a sight to behold for clutter! I’ve just been nagging Stacey about being aware of post op fatigue. There really is nothing like it and absolutely no way to fight it is there, and I hope that by giving in to it you are finding your recovery smooth. A new hip, wow...hope it gives you years and years of good use! The big magnifier means you do delicate work and the paints and fabric suggest a multi talent....do show us more when you’re up to it. And erm....is that a football team on your desk?!!

  6. I certainly wouldn't call your desk cluttered, everything looks so organized! I can see the creativity happening though! Sorry to hear you are so fatigued, I can empathise. I'm surprised you are getting anything done - I didn't when I was on bed rest! Have a great week, feel better soon, Lindart #26

  8. Welcome to WoywW so lovely to see a fresh desker. Sorry I too am a little late, it's been one of those weeks. I could just make out the tiny tiny figure on your desk, I'm not surprised to see the magnifying glass too.
Isn't creativity a great healer with so many things to chose from when we are feeling low or unable to manage other crafts. Take good care we are so happy to have you join us. Thanks for sharing WoywW Tracey #14
